“This is one of those moments that call out to humanity and it is our Islamic duty to respond and do all we can to help”, said Dr Waqar Azmi OBE of the British Muslim Forum. NOTES TO EDITORS: 1. Majority of the Muslims in the world as well as the two million in the UK belong to the Traditional Sunni (Ahle-Sunnat-wal-Jamaat) belief which incorporates Sufism. The British Muslim Forum is the voice of Traditional Sunnis and national body of the majority of the Mosques & Islamic Institutes operating at national, regional and grassroots levels in the UK. It has the largest share of elected seats in the UK’s Mosques & Imams National Advisory Board (MINAB). Through its Scholars, local Mosques and institutions it has an influence over the UK’s majority Muslim population.
